geocomputation GeoComputation
GeoComputation is a fresh field of endeavour yet reflects a broad spectrum of research methods, which are applied appropriately to the sub fields of this problem domain.
  • Machine learning
  • Geostatistics
  • Data mining and depiction
  • Image processing
  • Geospatial analysis
Remote Sensing
Remote sensing is the process of gathering data about an object using instruments that are not in direct contact with that object.
  • Celestial (satellite imagery)
  • Terrestrial (land based telemetry)
  •  Wireless sensor networks
Geospatial Visulisation
Geospatial visualisation is the process of viewing geospatially tagged information (co-ordinate data) on maps or satellite imagery (or both). The software tools used for this work produces output information that enables users to discover connections, trends or otherwise elusive correlations between data variables and sets of data values.
  • Landscape modelling
  • Spatio-temporal analysis and visualisation
  • Thematic cartography
  • 3D visualisation
